CAMP NAMANU X OREGON HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Camp Namanu, an overnight summer camp located in Sandy, Oregon, has been creating memories since 1924. In honor of its centennial celebration, the Oregon Historical Society featured an immersive exhibit curated by Namanu to explore the camp's rich history. Camp Namanu approached me to photograph and design one of the displays for this exhibit, highlighting the tradition of "Staff Ties."

These special ties, a longstanding tradition at Camp Namanu, have been worn by staff members during formal events such as campfires and banquet dinners since the camp's inception. Each summer, a unique fabric pattern is selected to commemorate the season. The poster I created showcases staff ties from as far back as the 1930s to the present day, celebrating nearly a century of camp heritage.
